Saturday 7th May saw the official launch of Rosedean Ryelands Yarn. Leona at “fluph”, a lovely yarn shop in Blackness Road, Dundee offered to host a launch – and it was great J
Quite a few folk turned up including my friend Jeni Reid (who started the ball rolling and brought along a beautiful shawl that she had kitted with the yarn), Louise Scollay from KnitBritish and Julia Billings. The amazing Kate Davies also came along – and that topped off a brilliant day.
We also sold a few balls of yarn :-). But don’t worry there’s still some left if you want to buy some.
Truly, having this yarn produced has introduced me to a whole new world. When I was a child, knitting was, more often that not, done out of necessity – and it was school jerseys and the like. Now the range of patterns and yarns is just astounding; it’s high fashion; it’s creative; it’s hugely popular!
Now looking forward to our 2016 clip, which will be later in the month. If we can, we’re going to do a light batch and a dark batch this year.
