We waved off eleven of our Rosedean Ryelands today, as they went off with their new owners to start a wee flock in Sutherland, right on the North coast of Scotland. Three ewes – Stella, Trixie and Uma – their six lambs, and two of last year’s ewe lambs (as yet unnamed) made the journey to Tongue and are now settlling into their new home.
The shearer is coming this Saturday to clip the sheep, so we’ll be bringing the ewes and lambs back from our seasonal grazing on Friday. We’ll be taking the opportunity to vaccinate the lambs with Heptavac P Plus, against clostridial diseases and pasteurella pneumonia, and to ear tag the ewe lambs. Once the tagging is done, I can get them registered.
